  My mother-in-law passed and when I called the church to see if the pastor would perform a funeral service at the Assisted living residence she resided at he said he would not because he did not know her. I explained to him another Minister had told me the same thing and that I was very discouraged and that I thought we are all God's children and that it should not matter if you knew the deceased or not - that she just needs to be blessed and released. His reply to me was "I could say some brutal words - but I do not want to hurt your feelings anymore than they already are hurt". This is a preacher of God's words??? I will pray for him!!!
